Where Was OAR Founded, Formed, and Who Are The Members?

O.A.R. is an American Rock Band that actually started in Rockville, Maryland in 1996 by founding members Marc Roberge and Chris Culos. They were actually inspired by Roberge’s older brother that is a drummer for the group Foxtrot Zulu (an alternative rock band). They also recruited Richard On and Benj GershmanThey got their start recording in 1997 for their album “The Wanderer” at Gizmo Recording Company in Silver Spring, Maryland. After they graduated from Wooton High School, they went to college at Ohio University. It was there they found their last main member, Jerry DePizzo who was from Youngstown, Ohio. They really started to form their own songs with a big college and online fan base due to their marketing campaign as well as the stories based off their high school and college experiences.
Members of the band include Marc Roberge, Chris Culos, Richard On, Benj Gershman, Jerry DePizzo, and Mikel Paris (touring member). 2005 was a break out year for O.A.R. as they became big with their Top 40 on the Billboard 200 album titled “Stories of a Strange”. They also had a single that received significant airplay as well as MTV and VH1 rotation called “Love and Memories”.
