You might know the band Of A Revolution or simply called “O.A.R.” You might have even seen a concert or two they’ve performed if you get your television through services like direct tv Kentucky. You probably are such an O.A.R. fan that you even know the members, the albums and some of the inspirations behind their work, but how familiar are you with their charitable works? Reaching stardom, it seems like the group never quite forgot their roots and have spent just as much time, if not more, giving back to the community – pretty revolutionary, wouldn’t you say?

Some of their more well-known charitable endeavors come in the form of the band’s own Heard The World foundation which tirelessly searches for ways in which to support youth education not just through funding but sustainable projects that work and provide a long-term solution. And that’s not all. The band has collaborated with organizations dedicated to helping veterans of war as well as those on the losing end of the economy and they still continue this day to straddle the line between celebrities and humanitarians. Maybe that’s why they are called Of A Revolution – because they are revolutionizing both the industry of music and our perception of rock stars in it.

Of A Revolution has been making music since 1996 and continues to crank out quality tunes even to this day. Supporting this terrific band will help ensure they have the means to continue to make the music we know and love.I was looking for more information and found it here. The bands origins trace back to Rockville, Maryland and OAR has successfully sustained a large following of college students since then.

OAR is renowned for their lyrics which are typically of a personal nature and as such many of OAR’s fans are able to identify with the music in an even closer fashion. The work ethic shown by OAR is something many bands could learn from; they have never shied away from performing live and are known for consistently playing as many show as possible in order to keep the fans pleased. Show your support for them today!

They were actually inspired by Roberge’s older brother that is a drummer for the group Foxtrot Zulu (an alternative rock band). They also recruited Richard On and Benj GershmanThey got their start recording in 1997 for their album “The Wanderer” at Gizmo Recording Company in Silver Spring, Maryland. After they graduated from Wooton High School, they went to college at Ohio University. It was there they found their last main member, Jerry DePizzo who was from Youngstown, Ohio. They really started to form their own songs with a big college and online fan base due to their marketing campaign as well as the stories based off their high school and college experiences.

Members of the band include Marc Roberge, Chris Culos, Richard On, Benj Gershman, Jerry DePizzo, and Mikel Paris (touring member). 2005 was a break out year for O.A.R. as they became big with their Top 40 on the Billboard 200 album titled “Stories of a Strange”. They also had a single that received significant airplay as well as MTV and VH1 rotation called “Love and Memories”.

What Is The Best OAR Song Or Album?

“In Between Now and Then” is easily OAR’s best album. Released in 2003, this album was full of solid jam rock that the group eventually abandoned for a more soft-rock sound. The production on this album was excellent and though many songs had some distinct similarity to Dave Matthew’s Band, they still had plenty of their own sound. The reggae influence is a bit more subtle throughout this album, but the vibe still definitely extends to the overall sound.

Though Marc Roberge is not a particularly good singer, the studio polish on this album really helps him out. There is also the fact that the instruments take center stage in most of the songs and the catchy hooks make you forget about any uneven vocals. On “Hey Girl” and “Right on Time”, the vibe is a rowdy one and any vocal issues are barely noticeable. “Old Man Time” and “Any Time Now” are a bit more dubious, but they are nevertheless, smooth and interesting songs.

The album contains a total of fifteen tracks, but two of these are very short intros and outros. It clocked in at a little over an hour.
